A Vermont Non-Profit Therapy Center
Supporting Emotional Health for Families and Individuals
Hannah's House is based on the idea that focusing on the emotional health of the whole family unit might, in turn, help the symptomatic individual within the family as well as the other family members.
Hannah's House, Inc. is a nonprofit therapy center located in the Mad River Valley Health Center in Waitsfield, Vermont. It was founded by the family and friends of Hannah Bedford in 2010 to help provide much needed therapy center for the Mad River Valley.
Nicole Krotinger, LCMHC, specializes in counseling children, adolescents, young adults and families. Her practice incorporates narrative, play and family systems therapies. Family therapy is not a new idea but one which has not been recognized as universally as more traditional practice which separates the individual from the family unit. It is our goal to support whole famiily well being by providing a variety of therapeutic services and educational tools.
Melissa G. Koehler,LCMHC, NCC, our newest therapist, brings extensive experience working with adults, adolescents, families, and groups to Hannah's House. She has worked in community mental health agencies, residential settings, schools, and homes across Franklin, Grand Isle, and Chittenden Counties, and is excited to bring her knowledge and experience to Washington County.
Neurofeedback Training...Hannah's House is proud to be one of the few centers in Vermont offering neurofeedback brain training which, in conjunction with counseling, has been proven effective in the treatment of ADHD, insomnia, PTSD, and other anxiety based disorders. Nicole has recently completed her certification and will expand this service in 2013.
Inspired Parenting Workshops...Kevin Gallagher returns with a new workshop on May 15th; click "Teaching Suffering" for details. A comprehensive roster of workshops are planned for 2013, which kicked off with "Mindfulness Workshop for Families" by Dr. Ray Chin, on January 7th. The enthusiastic response of participants led to a "Mindful Parenting" series led by Sheryl Kurland Platt and Deborah Feldman. This workshop and previous presentations may be viewed by clicking the links to the left.
New This Year...Hannah's House has leased additional space in the Mad River Valley Health Center and we are pleased to announce the addition of a new therapist, Melissa Koehler, LCMHC, who is now accepting clients. Financial assistance for therapy for individuals and families in need will also increase thanks to several generous grants. Team Hannah is gearing up for the third annual Mad Marathon fundraiser on July 7th. Last year 34 athletes did an amazing job supporting Hannah's House - our goal this year is 50 runners. Click Mad Marathon for information on registering or supporting a runner.
Hannah's House...is a 501 (c) (3) tax exempt organization funded to date by donations from friends, family and the Mad River Community. We are proud to be the recipient of grants from National Life, Vermont Community Foundation, Ben & Jerrys, Northfield Savings Bank, the Plansoen Trust, Vermont Agency and TD Bank North.
We are also thrilled to announce that Hannah's House has recently received a substantial endowment from the Entrust Fund of Glouchester, Mass. These funds will help insure sustainability for Hannah's House in the years to come. Our ultimate goal...is to establish an integrated, full service family therapy center in central Vermont. |
